I disagree wholeheartedly with the previous answers. This is what the Receivables Management module is for: to track your clients and their activity. If you want to analyze profitability by client, there are already some built-in SQL Server Reporting Services Reports for this, or you can use Management Reporter to accomplish this as the GL tables do store the customer number on each transaction posted from Receivables, which can further be added to an MR report.
