Number 6 in a series of Dynamics GP implementation tips for Small Businesses
Tip #6: Estimating your budget and costs before selection so you’re confident you have adequate funding to complete the project
Vital for success, we recommend estimating the total cost of ownership, providing a contingency (we recommend at least 20%), and gaining adequate funding before you buy software or sign hosting contracts.
Our sample needs analysis provides you with overall estimates. Our coaching process is realistic if you must keep costs to a minimum and believe you have a straightforward implementation. Engage a professional project manager for a few hours of planning if you do nothing else. Better $500 spent on planning that demonstrates you won’t be successful than $15,000 on software and failed implementation services.
