At the time of your initial purchase of Microsoft Dynamics GP, you are introduced to the concept of software enhancement. The enhancement fee is a percentage of the total cost of the software product licensing you are investing in that will serve to keep your software investment viable into the future. Your enhancement fee covers newly released service packs for your current software as well as access to new versions of the product and the ability to add more products to your software package.
During your first year of Dynamics GP ownership, you are required to be on what is called the Business Ready Advantage Plan. This plan allows you access to CustomerSource – which is a Microsoft website created for those who own a Dynamics software product that contains product information, news on new releases, software related events and most importantly a Knowledge base that can help answer many questions you may have about your Dynamics software. The Business Ready Advantage Plan also entitles you to six support incidents directly from Microsoft. This plan is based on 18% of your software product licensing cost.
After your first year of ownership has ended, it becomes time to renew your software licensing/enhancement. You now have the option of continuing on with the Business Ready Advantage Plan or choosing a different plan level – the Business Ready Enhancement Plan or Business Ready Advantage PLUS Plan.
The Business Ready Advantage PLUS Plan allows for unlimited support incidents directly through Microsoft and continued access to CustomerSource. This plan is based on 25% of your software product licensing cost.
The Business Ready Enhancement Plan is basic coverage that allows you all the items noted in the opening paragraph of this article as well as CustomerSource access. It does NOT include any support incidents from Microsoft. This plan is based on 16% of your software product licensing cost.

You must decide what level of Dynamics GP support is best for your GP users. Most Dynamics partners can provide support, so you need to determine if their support team suits your needs or if you would like to have access to Microsoft’s support as well. Some GP owners like the ability to have both options.
