Here's an idea - I don't know if it will work.
First question, did you just change the period end dates, or did the changes also change the fiscal year?
Did the change result in a short or long year?
If either of the two questions above is 'yes', post back and do not go forward.
Backup your current database and create a test company
Restore the backup you made so that you have a copy of your production database in your test company
In your test company, run the Reset Year utility. This article explains how to do this:
